Water main flushing removes accumulated sand and silt from the water mains and is a required maintenance process used to improve water quality for public health.
You’ll know flushing is happening in your neighbourhood when signs are posted on the street. When crews are flushing in your area you may notice a reduction in water pressure, additional sediment, or discoloration of the water, and/or cloudy water. After flushing is completed, we suggest running a cold water tap until your water is clear.
Please be considerate of crews and drive carefully in work areas.
