The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises that the Boil Water Notice issued on July 4, 2024, to customers in the area along 32nd Ave between 38th Street and Bella Vista Road has been RESCINDED.
Bacterial testing results and disinfection levels are within normal drinking water standards in the distribution system.

Update: July 12, 2024
On July 4, 2024, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advised customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the area along 32nd Ave between 38th St and Bella Vista Rd (see Attached Map) of a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) due to a rupture of the water main causing a loss of pressure.
Although repairs have been completed, residents are to remain under a precautionary BWN while GVW continues to monitor the integrity of the infrastructure in the affected area. A further update is expected July 17, 2024.
What should customers do?
Residents in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air. Please run a cold water tap until the water has cleared. An outside tap is preferred.
The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, customers in the affected area should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.

In conjunction with Interior Health, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises some customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the area along 32nd Ave between 38th Street and Bella Vista Road (See Attached Map) are on a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) until sampling results confirm the drinking water is safe.
A rupture of the water main in this area resulted in a loss of water pressure and increased turbidity to customers in the affected area. As a result, the RDNO is issuing a BWN to affected areas, flushing the water main, and sampling the water main to ensure the continued safety of the water system.
