Greater Vernon Water - Boil Water Notice - 32 Avenue and Alexis Park Drive, 30 Avenue between 37 Street and 39A Street, and 38 Street between 2708 38 Street and 32 Ave

Type
Water Notice

In conjunction with Interior Health, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the areas near the watermain work along  32 avenue and Alexis Park Drive, 30 Avenue between 37 Street and 39A street, and 38 Street between 2708 38 Street to 32 Avenue (see map below) that a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) has been issued while upgrades in the area continue.

This is a precautionary BWN due to ongoing construction and upgrading of the water main in this area. Due to the nature of the work, residents in the affected area may occasionally experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air in their water. The pipes in the area are being replaced due to their age and condition and are vulnerable to breaks which customers in the area have already experienced. Until the construction is completed, the water quality can change unexpectedly.

What should customers do?

Customers in the affected area should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.

If residents notice discolouration of the water or air in their water, please run a cold water tap until the water has cleared. An outside tap is preferred.
