38 Street to Hawksbill Place

The project replaces 32 services and 285 metres of a 1974 150mm diameter asbestos cement
water main. This section of water main was identified as a high-priority water main replacement
project based on the calculated risk using RiLCAMP (GVW risk tool) with a high priority on break
history. The water mains are approximately 45 to 49 years old located in a highly corrosive area
of soil with suspected poor construction methodology, with 10 water main breaks in the past 20
years.
