As part of ongoing efforts by the Regional District of the North Okanagan (RDNO) to maintain water quality and infrastructure, a water tie-in for replacement of an existing watermain on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, between the hours of 7:30AM to 7:30PM. During this period, water service to your residence will be temporarily turned off. To minimize the inconvenience, we recommend that you take the following precautions:
- Store an adequate supply of water for drinking, cooking, household needs, and sanitation purposes.
- Ensure that faucets are turned off to prevent any damage once water service is restored.
- Plan ahead for any activities that may require water, such as bathing or laundry.
Following the water interruption, a 48-hour Water Quality Advisory (WQA) will be in effect.
During this time, you may notice reduced water pressure, air in the water, discoloration and/or increased turbidity (cloudiness). Please run a cold tap until the water has cleared. An outside tap is preferred.
The level of treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, customers with weakened immune systems or wishing to take extra precaution should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.
This WQA will expire at 6:00PM on Thursday, September 12, unless otherwise notified.
