Original Notice - July 29, 2024

Water service will be temporarily shut-off on Wednesday July 31, 2024, from approximately 7:00am until 4:00pm to allow crews to complete a sanitary manhole at the intersection 32nd Ave and 38th Street.  Please see map below for affected properties.

The actual duration of the shut-down will depend on the conditions encountered.

Once the work has been completed, your water service will be restored. Please note that you may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air. Please run a cold water tap until the water has cleared.  An outside tap is preferred.

In conjunction with Interior Health, Greater Vernon Water has placed the affected area on a Precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) for 48 hours, until August 2, 2024, at 4:00 pm (see attached map). Very young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are advised to exercise caution and can choose to boil their water for at least one (1) minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our community’s infrastructure.
