Update - November 1, 2:55 pm: Customers switched to Kalamalka Lake Source Yesterday are now back on Duteau and included in the Notice
The Regional District of North Okanagan is informing customers of Greater Vernon Water (GVW) that some customers usually serviced by Duteau Creek water source will be switched to Kalamalka Lake on October 31, 2019 due to a leak detected in the pipe leaving the Duteau Ultraviolet (UV) treatment. During this time, Mission Hill Water Treatment Plant will be feeding most customers in the Greater Vernon area with the Kalamalka Lake source.
Customers who are normally on the Duteau Creek source will notice the water is much harder and the water has a higher alkalinity and pH. This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.

How long will repairs take?
The pipe repair at DCWTP is starting on October 31, 2019. We will not know an exact date when work will be completed, but updates will be posted on our website and sent out to subscribers of the Email Alert System .
