The Regional District of North Okanagan oversees select sub-regional and Electoral Area parks throughout the North Okanagan valley for resident and visitor enjoyment featuring:

  • Playgrounds
  • Dog parks
  • Trails 
  • Bird watching and wetlands
  • Undeveloped natural spaces
  • Viewing platforms

Have a furry friend?

With over 7400 licensed dogs in the area, many of our parks and trails allow dogs on-leash making your visit enjoyable for the whole family! Please note that those parks that do not allow dogs are close to playgrounds or environmentally sensitive areas. We ask all users to please check our parks and trails list to see if dogs are allowed in the area while planning your trip. 

Development Cost Charges Update Coming Soon

The RDNO is currently in the process of updating the Developer Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw for various parks and recreation services including White Valley Parks & Recreation, Electoral Area B & C Local Parks, and Electoral Area F Parks. The updated bylaw is expected to be sent to the Board of Directors for first reading in March of 2025, with the recommendation that a public consultation process be completed after first reading is given. The public consultation process will be advertised through the RDNO Newsletter Parks subscribers, the RDNO Facebook Page, this web page, and the local paper.

Address: 1815 Glencaird Street, Lumby

The Lumby Spray Park is located within Oval Park next to the Lumby outdoor swimming pool. 

The spray park is open throughout the summer from Victoria Day until Labour Day.

Address: 4011 Mutrie Road

Mutrie dog park is a off-leash, and fully fenced dog park. This park offers a small dog area where smaller breeds can be separated from larger breeds. 

 

Address: 5440 Macdonald Road

N'Kwala Park features a playground, basketball court and sports field. Dogs are not permitted on this site. 

The field in this park can be booked through Vernon Recreation at bookings@vernon.ca or 250-545-6035.

Address: 1815 Glencaird Street

Located in Lumby, Oval Park  can be used for a variety of sports, activities,  or community events and  provides residents with many amenities. Dogs are not permitted in this area.

Rocky Ridge Park is a small park and hiking area located on Turtle Mountain. It features a beautiful rocky viewpoint showcasing panoraminc views of Vernon.

Royals Ball Park offers two ball diamonds and can be reserved for tournaments.   Lights are available for use at an additional cost.  These fields are booked through contract by the Village of Lumby at 250-547-2171 or parks@lumby.ca.…
